The Arbor Hills Landfill is committed to a strong community partnership by contributing to state and local economies each year, supporting growth and development where you live and work.
Arbor Hills is a strong partner through our many community programs. Waste management services are provided through a wide network of vehicles and services. During times of severe weather, crisis or emergencies, we are there, even helping our elderly as requested for yard clean up! Our team also works alongside Salem Township to help maintain and preserve the natural beauty of the Farm Preserve Park.
Arbor Hills is dedicated to giving back to the counties and townships we serve through donations that strengthen local programs and initiatives. Each year, we proudly support community projects, work on public spaces, and provide essential services that directly benefit residents. Our commitment to reinvesting locally reflects our belief that strong communities are built through shared partnership and support.

Economic Impact
Arbor Hills is a significant contributor to the Salem Township Community.
The Arbor Hills campus provides more than $3 million in host fees to Salem Township annually and an additional $1.3 million in host fees to Washtenaw County. Arbor Hills spends nearly $40 million annually on the purchase of goods and services, as well as host and permit fees to the State of Michigan, Washtenaw County and Salem Township. The site employs approximately 40 full-time site employees (including union employees from Michigan Operating Engineers).
